Neste sábado, feriado do dia 15 de novembro, a partir das 12h, o Clube de Suboficiais e Sargentos da Aeronáutica em Cascadura será palco da 12ª edição do Umbanda Rio, reconhecido no país como o maior encontro de terreiros do Brasil. 

A programação será intensa e diversa.
Um dia inteiro dedicado à música de terreiro, ao samba e outras musicalidades e expressões culturais em diferentes estilos como as percussionistas afro do grupo Baque Mulher, o cantor e compositor Braguinha, Igor Benatti,  Enzo Belmonte com a sua banda e o seu Show completo chamado MEU AXÉ, recebedor vários convidados e os grandes ogãs e curimbeiros diretamente dos terreiros trazendo toda riqueza musical e a potência dos atabaques de Umbanda.
O Quintal do Ajeum recebe a gastronomia dos terreiros que carrega todo sabor da ancestralidade e ainda terá petiscos diversos para todos os gostos.

O Talk Show Literário recebe e celebra os principais autores, pesquisadores e suas obras ligadas às tradições afro-brasileiras, reunindo lançamentos desse segmento.

É um grande ponto de encontro para filhos de fé, estudiosos, simpatizantes e todo aquele que deseja vivenciar de perto a riqueza da Umbanda e a força da nossa tradição.

O Encontro Umbanda Rio se notabilizou por receber adeptos, sacerdotes e simpatizantes de vários municípios do Rio de Janeiro e até de outros estados, fortalecedor o diálogo, permitindo a troca de saberes e fortalecendo a identidade religiosa de um povo que é constantemente violentado e desrespeitado nos seus direitos mais fundamentais.

Uma história de fé, cultura, identidade e afirmação dos valores umbandistas, o evento comemora o aniversário de anunciação da religião de Umbanda e busca visibilidade para suas pautas em defesa das suas tradições, contra o racismo religioso e o descaso das autoridades, face a crescente onda de casos de violência contra sacerdotes, adeptos e terreiros de Umbanda.

O Umbanda Rio não é apenas um evento.

É um movimento, vivo e pulsante, que nasce da fé, da resistência e da criatividade do nosso povo de axé.

Idealizado por Pai Alex d’Oxalá, sacerdote umbandista da Fraternidade Aldeia Caboclo Pena Branca, iniciado no candomblé, produtor musical e ativista em defesa das religiões afro, cria o encontro como fruto de sua caminhada dedicada à valorização das comunidades de terreiro.

A cada edição, o evento cresce e já trouxe para o palco artistas consagrados como Tereza Cristina, Arlindinho, Ito Melodia e Wander Pires, além de inúmeros intérpretes e compositores de cantigas de terreiro sendo um palco de valores artísticos que hoje são sucesso em todo Brasil.

O local escolhido para receber o povo de axé é mais uma vez o Clube de Suboficiais e Sargentos da Aeronáutica em Cascadura, subúrbio carioca, região da cidade que concentra muitas casas umbandistas.

Umbanda Rio – 12 Years
THE LARGEST GATHERING OF TERREIROS IN BRAZIL
This Saturday, November 15 — a national holiday — starting at 12 p.m., the Club of Air Force Non-Commissioned Officers and Sergeants in Cascadura will host the 12th edition of Umbanda Rio, recognized nationwide as the largest gathering of terreiros (spiritual temples) in Brazil.
The program will be intense and diverse — a full day dedicated to música de terreiro (spiritual music), samba, and other musical and cultural expressions in various styles. Performances will include the Afro-percussionist group Baque Mulher, singer and songwriter Braguinha, Igor Benatti, and Enzo Belmonte with his band and his full show “Meu Axé”, featuring several guests and the great ogãs and curimbeiros directly from the terreiros, bringing the musical richness and the powerful sound of the Umbanda atabaques (drums).
The Quintal do Ajeum will feature the traditional cuisine of the terreiros, filled with the ancestral flavors of Afro-Brazilian culture, as well as a variety of snacks for all tastes. The Literary Talk Show will welcome and celebrate prominent authors and researchers whose works are linked to Afro-Brazilian traditions, with book launches and discussions in this field.
It is a great gathering point for filhos de fé (children of faith), scholars, supporters, and anyone who wishes to experience up close the richness of Umbanda and the strength of our tradition.
The Umbanda Rio Gathering has become known for bringing together followers, priests, and supporters from various municipalities in Rio de Janeiro and even from other states — strengthening dialogue, encouraging the exchange of knowledge, and reinforcing the religious identity of a people who are constantly violated and disrespected in their most fundamental rights.
A story of faith, culture, identity, and affirmation of Umbandist values, the event celebrates the anniversary of the announcement of the Umbanda religion and seeks to give visibility to its causes — defending its traditions, fighting against religious racism and the negligence of authorities, amid the growing wave of violence against Umbanda priests, followers, and terreiros.
Umbanda Rio is not just an event. It is a movement — alive and pulsating — born from the faith, resistance, and creativity of our people of axé.
Created by Pai Alex d’Oxalá, an Umbandist priest from Fraternidade Aldeia Caboclo Pena Branca, initiated in Candomblé, music producer, and activist for Afro-religious rights, the gathering is the result of his lifelong commitment to valuing terreiro communities.

With each new edition, the event grows and has already brought to its stage celebrated artists such as Tereza Cristina, Arlindinho, Ito Melodia, and Wander Pires, along with many interpreters and composers of terreiro songs — a true showcase of artistic talent that now shines across Brazil.
The venue chosen to once again welcome the povo de axé (people of faith and energy) is the Club of Air Force Non-Commissioned Officers and Sergeants in Cascadura, a suburban area of Rio de Janeiro that is home to many Umbandist houses.
