Para o carnaval de 2026, o Arranco do Engenho de Dentro terá um “musinho” especial em seu desfile na Marquês de Sapucaí. Gabriel Breia, de apenas 7 anos, desfilará na agremiação dando vida a Antônio Alves, irmão de Maria Eliza, ainda criança. Já conhecido no carnaval, seguindo os passos de sua mãe, Tatiana Breia, a musa da educação, será o primeiro ano em que Gabriel desfilará em uma posição de destaque na folia carioca.

• Já acompanhávamos o Gabriel pelas redes sociais e sempre nos trouxe alegria. O Arranco é uma escola inclusiva e desde o primeiro momento que pensamos nos destaques mirins veio o nome dele para ocupar essa posição. Gabriel vai representar a alegria de quem acredita que o carnaval é um ato de amor e inclusão. O Arranco reafirma seu compromisso de incluir, abraçar e espalhar felicidade – revelou a Presidente, Dona Diná.

A azul e branca vai celebrar o riso, a resistência e a força de Maria Eliza Alves dos Reis, a primeira mulher negra a ser palhaço, que deu vida ao Palhaço Xamego. Gabriel viverá Antônio Alves ainda na infância, um dos irmãos de Maria Eliza. Um papel de pureza, esperança e encanto.

• Desde o dia que chegou o convite para o Gabriel eu já fiquei emocionada. A minha luta por mais de 20 anos de carnaval é pela inclusão, pela educação e por todas as crianças, o futuro do nosso samba. O Gabriel sempre vem comigo na União da Ilha, é acolhido por todos, chama atenção por onde passa e esse convite veio só para afirmar que estamos no caminho certo. At Just 7 Years Old, Gabriel Breia Will Be Arranco’s “Musinho” on the Marquês de Sapucaí

For the 2026 carnival, Arranco do Engenho de Dentro will feature a very special musinho in its parade on the Marquês de Sapucaí. Gabriel Breia, only 7 years old, will parade with the school portraying Antônio Alves, the younger brother of Maria Eliza. Already known in the carnival scene and following in the footsteps of his mother, Tatiana Breia — the “muse of education” — this will be Gabriel’s first year parading in a position of prominence in Rio’s festivities.

“We’ve been following Gabriel on social media, and he has always brought us joy. Arranco is an inclusive school, and from the moment we began thinking about the children’s highlights, his name came up to take on this role. Gabriel will represent the joy of those who believe carnival is an act of love and inclusion. Arranco reaffirms its commitment to including, embracing, and spreading happiness,” said the President, Dona Diná.

The blue-and-white school will celebrate the laughter, resilience, and strength of Maria Eliza Alves dos Reis, the first Black woman to become a clown, who created the character Palhaço Xamego. Gabriel will portray Antônio Alves as a child, one of Maria Eliza’s brothers — a role filled with purity, hope, and enchantment.

“From the moment the invitation arrived for Gabriel, I was already emotional. My fight for over 20 years in carnival has been for inclusion, for education, and for all children, the future of our samba. Gabriel always comes with me to União da Ilha, and he is welcomed by everyone. He stands out wherever he goes, and this invitation only confirms that we are on the right path. As a special-needs mother and a sambista, it is a source of pure pride,” said his mother, Tatiana Breia.
