Beija-Flor hosts a roundtable on samba, education, and the fight against religious intolerance
Beija-Flor promove roda de conversa sobre samba, educação e combate à intolerância religiosa*
Nilópolis, janeiro de 2026 – O Departamento Cultural da Beija-Flor de Nilópolis promove, na próxima sexta-feira, 23 de janeiro, às 19h, na quadra da escola, em Nilópolis, a roda de conversa “Multidão de Macumbeiros”, iniciativa que integra as ações culturais da agremiação e reforça o compromisso com o enfrentamento à intolerância religiosa.
A atividade dialoga diretamente com o enredo da Beija-Flor para o Carnaval 2026, que terá como tema a manifestação cultural e religiosa Bembé do Mercado, patrimônio imaterial e símbolo de resistência, fé e identidade afro-brasileira.
Com o tema “Samba, educação, reparação e memória”, o encontro reunirá importantes nomes da cultura, do pensamento social, do jornalismo e das religiões de matriz africana para um debate plural e formativo. Participam da roda de conversa:

O convite é direcionado à Ala das Baianas, Velha Guarda, diretoria e componentes, e também a todas as pessoas interessadas em participar do debate. A atividade contará com 50 vagas, abertas para quem deseja participar, mediante contato prévio pelo Instagram do Departamento Cultural da Beija-Flor: @culturalbeijaflor.
A Beija-Flor reafirma, com a iniciativa, seu papel histórico como espaço de resistência cultural, educação e valorização da memória afro-brasileira, convidando a comunidade a participar desse momento de escuta, reflexão e fortalecimento coletivo.

Nilópolis, January 2026 – The Cultural Department of Beija-Flor de Nilópolis will host, next Friday, January 23, at 7:00 p.m., at the school’s quadra in Nilópolis, the roundtable discussion “Multidão de Macumbeiros.” The initiative is part of the organization’s cultural actions and reinforces its commitment to confronting religious intolerance.
The activity directly engages with Beija-Flor’s theme for Carnival 2026, which will focus on the cultural and religious manifestation Bembé do Mercado, an intangible heritage and a symbol of resistance, faith, and Afro-Brazilian identity.
Under the theme “Samba, education, reparation, and memory,” the meeting will bring together prominent figures from culture, social thought, journalism, and Afro-Brazilian religions for a plural and educational debate.
