CBMERJ sobre o incêndio no shopping da Tijuca

O Corpo de Bombeiros Militar do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (CBMERJ) atua, desde a noite de sexta-feira (02/01), no combate a um incêndio que atingiu um shopping localizado na Avenida Maracanã, na Tijuca, Zona Norte do Rio de Janeiro.

O Quartel da Tijuca foi acionado às 18h28 para a ocorrência, que neste momento mobiliza cerca de 65 militares de 15 unidades operacionais, com o apoio de 22 viaturas.

As chamas tiveram início em uma área de difícil acesso, no subsolo do shopping, provocando intensa concentração de fumaça, o que exige atuação técnica especializada, incluindo o emprego de equipamentos de proteção respiratória autônoma e de ventilação mecânica para dispersão dos gases e garantia da segurança das equipes.

Até o momento, dois óbitos foram confirmados. A identificação das vítimas é feita pelo IML. Outras três pessoas foram socorridas e encaminhadas a unidades hospitalares. Por ora, não há informação de outras vítimas no local.

A ocorrência permanece em andamento. Neste momento, o incêndio encontra-se controlado,  sem possibilidade de propagação. As equipes seguem fazendo o resfriamento do local.

The Rio de Janeiro State Military Fire Department (CBMERJ) has been responding since Friday night (01/02) to a fire that broke out at a shopping mall located on Avenida Maracanã, in Tijuca, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The Tijuca Fire Station was dispatched at 6:28 p.m. to the incident, which currently mobilizes around 65 firefighters from 15 operational units, with the support of 22 vehicles.
The fire started in a hard-to-reach area in the mall’s basement, causing a heavy concentration of smoke. This situation requires specialized technical operations, including the use of self-contained breathing apparatus and mechanical ventilation equipment to disperse gases and ensure the safety of the teams.
So far, two fatalities have been confirmed. The identification of the victims is being carried out by the Legal Medical Institute (IML). Three other people were rescued and taken to hospital units. At this time, there is no information about additional victims at the site.
The incident remains ongoing. At this moment, the fire is under control, with no risk of spreading. The teams continue working on cooling down the area.
