Cláudio Castro inaugura sala de comando do Centro de Controle Operacional do Instituto Rio Metrópole para acompanhar a distribuição de água no estado

O CCO centraliza e monitora, em tempo real, o volume de água potável fornecido para a Região Metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro

O governador Cláudio Castro inaugurou, na manhã desta terça-feira (12/08), a sala de comando do Centro de Controle Operacional (CCO) do Instituto Rio Metrópole (IRM), espaço que vai centralizar e monitorar a operação de distribuição de água potável pela Cedae para toda a Região Metropolitana. Localizado na sede do IRM, no centro do Rio, o CCO nasce como uma instância de transparência e monitoramento contínuo, com o objetivo de medir, em tempo real, o volume de água fornecido pela companhia às concessionárias.

– A concessão da Cedae nos trouxe muitos resultados positivos: mais de 1 milhão de pessoas beneficiadas com água em casa, praias que foram impróprias por décadas agora estão limpas e os municípios começaram a ter obras importantes para a área de esgoto. Estamos trabalhando com muita firmeza nessa agenda, e essa central é um grande passo para que a gente consiga, de fato, universalizar o acesso à água. Com os dados extraídos daqui, vamos ter um panorama ainda mais preciso do sistema e conseguiremos cobrar tanto as concessionárias quanto os órgãos de controle – destacou o governador.

Controle hídrico eficiente 

O CCO também permitirá a geração de dados confiáveis e imparciais, reforçando o papel técnico do Instituto Rio Metrópole na mediação e fiscalização dos contratos de concessão. Com o novo centro, o IRM amplia sua capacidade de análise técnica e de adoção de medidas estratégicas.  

– Com um centro moderno e tecnológico, vamos saber quantitativo, qualidade, vazão e outras características da água que está sendo fornecida para a população, e esses dados assertivos conseguem nortear as decisões a respeito da operação do sistema. Estamos orgulhosos em implementar essa ferramenta, e nossa expectativa é continuar atendendo às necessidades da população do Rio em diversos projetos estruturais – explicou o presidente do Instituto, Davi Perini Vermelho.

O presidente da Cedae, Aguinaldo Ballon, também enfatizou que a nova ferramenta facilita a consolidação de dados e cria um ambiente favorável para o pleno funcionamento do sistema de abastecimento de água em todo o estado. 

– O processo de concessão trouxe muita inovação para todos os sistemas da Cedae e, hoje, esse novo espaço vai ajudar o trabalho de todos os envolvidos, da Cedae, da Agenersa e do IRM, além de beneficiar toda a população. Termos um mecanismo como esse, que nos proporciona dados instantâneos e precisos, garante mais qualidade para a nossa tomada de decisões. Essa parceria é fundamental para manter o sistema de abastecimento funcionando corretamente – afirmou.

The OCC centralizes and monitors, in real time, the volume of drinking water supplied to the Rio de Janeiro Metropolitan Region
On the morning of Tuesday, August 12, Governor Cláudio Castro inaugurated the command room of the Operational Control Center (OCC) at the Rio Metropolis Institute (IRM), a facility that will centralize and monitor the potable water distribution operation by Cedae for the entire Metropolitan Region.
Located at IRM headquarters in downtown Rio, the OCC is designed as a hub for transparency and continuous monitoring, with the goal of measuring, in real time, the volume of water supplied by the company to the concessionaires.
“The Cedae concession has brought us many positive results: more than one million people have gained access to running water at home, beaches that had been unsuitable for decades are now clean, and municipalities have begun important sanitation projects. We are working hard on this agenda, and this control center is a major step toward truly universalizing access to water. With the data gathered here, we will have an even more precise overview of the system and will be able to hold both concessionaires and regulatory agencies accountable,” said the governor.

Efficient Water Management
The OCC will also allow for the generation of reliable and impartial data, strengthening the technical role of the Rio Metropolis Institute in mediating and overseeing concession contracts. With the new center, IRM expands its capacity for technical analysis and the adoption of strategic measures.
“With a modern, high-tech center, we will be able to track quantity, quality, flow rate, and other characteristics of the water being supplied to the population. This accurate data will guide decisions regarding the operation of the system. We are proud to implement this tool, and our expectation is to continue meeting the needs of the people of Rio in various structural projects,” explained the Institute’s president, Davi Perini Vermelho.
Cedae president Aguinaldo Ballon also emphasized that the new tool facilitates data consolidation and creates an environment conducive to the smooth operation of the water supply system throughout the state.
“The concession process has brought a great deal of innovation to all of Cedae’s systems, and today, this new facility will support the work of everyone involved—Cedae, Agenersa, and IRM—while benefiting the entire population. Having a mechanism like this, which provides us with instant and accurate data, ensures higher quality in our decision-making. This partnership is essential for keeping the supply system operating properly,” he said.
