Gato de Salto se caracteriza de Orixá feminino em ensaio técnico na Marquês de Sapucaí
Gato de Salto estreou com tudo como muso da Em Cima da Hora. No ensaio técnico da agremiação, realizado no último domingo, 26, na Marquês de Sapucaí, o veterano se caracterizou de orixá Iansã. Ativista da comunidade LGBTQIAPN+, Gato vibrou com a conquista e delicadeza do carnavalesco em confiar nele essa representatividade.
– Pra mim foi super especial representar um orixá feminino. Já tinha sido negado em uma ala de passistas uma vez, pois vinham de pombagira e achavam que eu não me adequaria ao personagem, então a Em Cima da Hora confiar em mim a responsabilidade de representar Iansã foi de uma conquista imensa – revela Gato.
E para entrar bem no personagem, a caracterização contou com lentes brancas durante a sua passagem na Marquês de Sapucaí. Gato chega com tudo no pré-carnaval e já promete ousar ainda mais no desfile oficial da agremiação. A beldade luta pela representatividade no carnaval ao apresentar em cima de um salto alto e com fantasias tradicionalmente associadas ao corpo feminino.
O carnavalesco da agremiação, Rodrigo Almeida, ainda teceu elogios em uma postagem nas redes sociais: “Como carnavalesco, gay e militante, meu papel é simplesmente dar voz a figuras maravilhosas de resistência como Gato de Salto. Resistiremos sempre, porque fazer arte é resistir! Obrigado pela sua luta, meu querido, ela é nossa, mas são vozes como a sua que elevam o nível da coisa.” – revelou Rodrigo em um comentário.

Gato de Salto made a stunning debut as the muse of Em Cima da Hora. During the samba school’s technical rehearsal, held last Sunday, the 26th, at Marquês de Sapucaí, the veteran embodied the Orixá Iansã. An activist for the LGBTQIAPN+ community, Gato celebrated this achievement and the trust placed in him by the carnival designer to represent this role.
• “It was very special for me to represent a female Orixá. I was once denied a place in a group of passistas because they were portraying Pombagira and thought I wouldn’t fit the character. So, for Em Cima da Hora to trust me with the responsibility of representing Iansã is an immense achievement,” Gato reveals.
To fully embrace the character, the look included white contact lenses during his performance at Marquês de Sapucaí. Gato is making a bold statement in the pre-carnival and promises to go even further during the samba school’s official parade. He fights for representation in carnival by performing in high heels and wearing costumes traditionally associated with the female body.
The school’s carnival designer, Rodrigo Almeida, praised Gato in a social media post: “As a carnival designer, a gay man, and an activist, my role is simply to give a voice to wonderful figures of resistance like Gato de Salto. We will always resist, because creating art is an act of resistance! Thank you for your fight, my dear; it is ours, but voices like yours take it to the next level,” Rodrigo wrote in a comment.

ガト・デ・サルトは、エン・シマ・ダ・オーラのミューズとして見事なデビューを果たしました。1月26日（日）にマルケス・デ・サプカイで行われたサンバスクールの技術リハーサルでは、ベテランの彼が女性のオリシャ「イャンサ」に扮しました。LGBTQIAPN+コミュニティの活動家でもあるガトは、この役を任せてもらえたこと、そしてカーニバルデザイナーの繊細な配慮を大いに喜びました。
• 「女性のオリシャを演じるのは、私にとって特別な体験でした。以前、ポンバジラをテーマにしたパシスタのグループで私がそのキャラクターに合わないと判断され、参加を断られたことがあります。そのため、エン・シマ・ダ・オーラが私を信じ、イャンサを演じる責任を託してくれたことは、非常に大きな達成感があります」とガトは語ります。
キャラクターに完全になりきるため、リハーサルでは白いコンタクトレンズを装着しました。プレ・カーニバルで既に大胆な一面を見せるガトは、公式パレードではさらに大胆なパフォーマンスを予告しています。彼は、ハイヒールを履き、伝統的に女性の体に関連付けられる衣装で演技することで、カーニバルにおける多様性の象徴となるべく奮闘しています。
サンバスクールのカーニバルデザイナーであるロドリゴ・アルメイダは、SNSの投稿でガトを称賛しました。「カーニバルデザイナーであり、ゲイであり、活動家でもある私の役目は、ガト・デ・サルトのような素晴らしい抵抗の象徴に声を与えることに他なりません。私たちは常に抵抗します。なぜなら、アートを創造すること自体が抵抗の行為だからです！あなたの闘いに感謝します、私たちの闘いでもありますが、あなたのような声がそれをさらに高めるのです」とロドリゴはコメントしています。
