As intervenções, que contarão com investimento de R$ 82 milhões do Governo do Estado, irão criar uma melhor integração entre o sistema de ônibus e a rede ferroviária

O governador Cláudio Castro autorizou, nesta sexta-feira (28/03), o início das obras de revitalização da rodoviária de Belford Roxo, na Baixada Fluminense. O investimento de R$ 82 milhões do Governo do Estado tem o objetivo de criar uma estrutura favorável para a integração entre os ônibus e a malha ferroviária. A revitalização das estações e do entorno vai contribuir para a qualidade de vida dos mais de 2 mil passageiros que usam os modais diariamente.

– A reforma da área em volta da estação incentiva a construção de espaços comerciais para atender tanto os passageiros, quanto os moradores, e isso é muito importante para fortalecer a economia local. Essa obra foi possível também pela parceria entre o Executivo e o Legislativo municipal, e agora os frutos dessa parceria serão colhidos pelo povo de Belford Roxo – destacou o governador.

Executada por meio da Secretaria de Estado de Transportes, a intervenção faz parte do projeto conhecido como TOD (Desenvolvimento Orientado pelo Transporte), que vai promover uma melhor integração do transporte público com o desenvolvimento urbano local e uma mobilidade mais sustentável e fluida. As obras serão finalizadas em até 18 meses.

O escopo do projeto contempla a demolição parcial da estação ferroviária. A área de intervenção se estende além da estação, abrangendo um raio de 1 km. O projeto também inclui drenagem, pavimentação, urbanização e instalação de iluminação pública, focando na melhoria da funcionalidade e da acessibilidade e buscando o aumento do fluxo de mobilidade na região.

– Belford Roxo está vivendo um novo tempo, trabalhamos juntos para garantir o direito da população de ter um transporte público de qualidade. Queremos dar conforto e segurança aos usuários. Essa modernização será positiva para todo o sistema de transportes do Rio de Janeiro – afirmou o secretário de Transportes, Washington Reis.

O prefeito do município de Belford Roxo, Márcio Canella, elogiou a iniciativa e enfatizou que a nova infraestrutura também vai otimizar o fluxo de pessoas e ampliar a área de influência da estação.

– É uma obra histórica para a Baixada Fluminense e para a nossa cidade. Nosso objetivo é beneficiar os usuários de transportes públicos da região, os pedestres e ciclistas. Daqui saem ônibus em direção a Mesquita, São João de Meriti e Nova Iguaçu. Todo o entorno vai melhorar – disse.

Governor Cláudio Castro authorized, this Friday (03/28), the start of revitalization works at the Belford Roxo bus terminal, in Baixada Fluminense. The R$ 82 million investment from the State Government aims to create a favorable structure for the integration between buses and the railway network. The revitalization of the stations and surrounding areas will improve the quality of life for the more than 2,000 passengers who use these transport modes daily.
“The renovation of the area around the station encourages the development of commercial spaces to serve both passengers and residents, which is crucial for strengthening the local economy. This project was also made possible through a partnership between the Executive and Legislative branches of the municipality, and now the people of Belford Roxo will reap the benefits of this collaboration,” emphasized the governor.
Carried out through the State Department of Transport, the intervention is part of the TOD (Transit-Oriented Development) project, which aims to enhance the integration of public transportation with local urban development, ensuring more sustainable and efficient mobility. The works are expected to be completed within 18 months.
The project includes the partial demolition of the railway station. The intervention area extends beyond the station, covering a radius of 1 km. The project also involves drainage, paving, urbanization, and the installation of public lighting, focusing on improving functionality and accessibility while increasing mobility flow in the region.
“Belford Roxo is experiencing a new era. We are working together to ensure the population’s right to quality public transportation. We want to provide comfort and safety to users. This modernization will have a positive impact on the entire transportation system of Rio de Janeiro,” said the Secretary of Transport, Washington Reis.
The mayor of Belford Roxo, Márcio Canella, praised the initiative and highlighted that the new infrastructure will also optimize the flow of people and expand the station’s area of influence.
“This is a historic project for Baixada Fluminense and our city. Our goal is to benefit public transport users, pedestrians, and cyclists in the region. Buses departing from here serve Mesquita, São João de Meriti, and Nova Iguaçu. The entire surrounding area will improve,” he stated.
