Império Serrano revela fantasia de ala comercial para o Carnaval 2026
Figurino da Ala Heróis da Liberdade integra o enredo ‘Ponciá Evaristo Flor do Mulungu’ e está disponível para compra mediante disponibilidade

Nesta terça-feira (18), o Império Serrano divulgou mais uma fantasia que vai integrar o desfile do Carnaval 2026, numa grande homenagem à Conceição Evaristo. O figurino, intitulado “Angorô, vira menino! Angorô, não vou virar!”, compõe o enredo “Ponciá Evaristo Flor do Mulungu” e será utilizado pela Ala Heróis da Liberdade. A fantasia é comercial e pode ser adquirida mediante disponibilidade pelo WhatsApp (21) 97137-3244.

Criada pelo carnavalesco Renato Esteves, a fantasia foi inspirada nas ilustrações do artista Breno Loeser. Ela apresenta referências a Angorô, divindade afro associada ao arco-íris e à serpente.

Segundo a sinopse do enredo, Ponciá-Evaristo-Flor-do-Mulungu tinha o hábito de atravessar o rio saltando de pedra em pedra, mas, em certa ocasião, encontrou um impasse: um arco-íris no céu unia as duas margens. Para alcançar o local onde repousavam seus ancestrais, ela precisaria passar sob a “cobra celeste”. O medo a paralisou. A tradição, ensinada por Tia Halima, dizia que “a menina que passasse debaixo de Angorô, garoto virava”. A partir dessa crença, Ponciá-Evaristo-Flor-do-Mulungu questiona se sua vida seria mais fácil caso tivesse nascido menino.

Ao longo dos próximos dias, novas fantasias serão reveladas. A decisão da escola de divulgar parte dos figurinos que ganharão vida na Sapucaí também marca uma celebração à Semana da Consciência Negra. Em 2026, o Império Serrano será a quarta escola a desfilar no sábado, 14 de fevereiro, pela Série Ouro.

This Tuesday (18), Império Serrano revealed another costume that will be featured in its 2026 Carnival parade, a grand tribute to Conceição Evaristo. The costume, titled “Angorô, vira menino! Angorô, não vou virar!”, is part of the storyline “Ponciá Evaristo Flor do Mulungu” and will be worn by the “Heróis da Liberdade” wing. This is a commercial costume and can be purchased, subject to availability, via WhatsApp at +55 (21) 97137-3244.

Created by carnavalesco Renato Esteves, the costume was inspired by illustrations by artist Breno Loeser. It incorporates references to Angorô, an Afro-Brazilian divinity associated with the rainbow and the serpent.

According to the parade synopsis, Ponciá-Evaristo-Flor-do-Mulungu had a habit of crossing the river by jumping from stone to stone, but on one occasion she faced an impasse: a rainbow stretched across the sky connecting the two banks. To reach the place where her ancestors rested, she would need to pass beneath the “celestial serpent.” Fear overtook her. Tradition, as taught by Tia Halima, proclaimed that “any girl who crossed beneath Angorô would turn into a boy.” From this belief, Ponciá-Evaristo-Flor-do-Mulungu wonders whether her life might have been easier had she been born a boy.

In the coming days, more costumes will be revealed. The school’s decision to release part of the costumes that will come to life on Sapucaí also serves as a celebration of Black Consciousness Week. In 2026, Império Serrano will be the fourth school to parade on Saturday, February 14, in the Série Ouro division.
