Lara Mara, a presidente mais jovem da história do Carnaval, celebra os 68 anos da Unidos de Padre Miguel

A tarde de ontem foi de celebração para a Unidos de Padre Miguel. A escola comemorou seus 68 anos de existência com uma grande feijoada na quadra, reunindo comunidade e convidados para marcar mais um capítulo da trajetória da Vermelha e Branca. Aos 20 anos, Lara Mara, que preside a agremiação e integra o seleto grupo de mulheres à frente de escolas de samba, é hoje a mais jovem presidente mulher da história do Carnaval carioca.

“Sou nascida e criada na Vila Vintém, presidir a Unidos é uma honra, mas também uma responsabilidade muito grande, porque a minha história de vida está alinhada com a Unidos de Padre Miguel. O amor que eu sinto por essa agremiação e por essa comunidade é o que me move, é o que me faz querer ver a minha escola no topo. Sei que há muito a ser feito, mas com  muito profissionalismo, responsabilidade, humildade e amor
vamos chegar lá”, afirmou a presidente.

Lara Mara, the youngest president in the history of Carnival, celebrates Unidos de Padre Miguel’s 68th anniversary

Yesterday afternoon was a day of celebration for Unidos de Padre Miguel. The school marked its 68 years of existence with a large feijoada at its quadra, bringing together the community and guests to celebrate another chapter in the history of the Red and White.
At just 20 years old, Lara Mara, who leads the association and is part of the select group of women at the helm of samba schools, is now the youngest female president in the history of Rio’s Carnival.
“I was born and raised in Vila Vintém. Presiding over Unidos is an honor, but also a great responsibility, because my life story is intertwined with Unidos de Padre Miguel. The love I feel for this school and for this community is what drives me — it’s what makes me want to see my school at the top. I know there is still much to be done, but with professionalism, responsibility, humility, and love, we will get there,” said the president.
