Novo Império divulga sinopse do enredo e anuncia encomenda do samba-enredo para 2026

Desfilando pela Série Bronze do carnaval carioca, a Novo Império divulgou a sinopse do seu enredo para o carnaval de 2026. A agremiação levará para a Intendente Magalhães o tema “No canto sagrado dos pajés e curandeiros: A cura que brota da floresta”, desenvolvido pelos carnavalescos Alex Santiago e Elvis Luiz. A escola optou por encomendar o samba-enredo aos compositores da casa. A obra será apresentada no dia 7 de setembro em grande festa de aniversário da agremiação.
 SINOPSE
Com as bênçãos dos pajés e curandeiros, a Novo Império levanta seu pavilhão para cantar a força ancestral da mata. Entre o gorjear dos pássaros e o dançar das árvores ao som das cascatas, surge a magia que perfuma a vida com cheiro de beijoim. As energias de Ossain e aroni, num bailado místico, convidam a todos para um banho de fé e renovação.

Invocamos o “Senhor das Folhas” e o poder curativo das plantas medicinais, herança dos nossos ancestrais, que maceram a dor e eliminam epidemias. Ao som do samba, as sementes do amor florescem, curando feridas e trazendo esperança. De bengalas que quebram mandinga a caboclos que evocam “Okê Arô!”, a sabedoria antiga ressurge: o pajé, o curandeiro, o avô que ensina o banho de abô, todos eles guardam o segredo da floresta, a receita infalível contra o medo.

Eis que a alegria faz morada: saravá, atotô! Que o axé corra livre na Avenida, pedindo mais amor e proteção. É a festa do canto sagrado, onde a cura não vem apenas das folhas, mas também do sorriso, da comunhão e do compasso do nosso coração. Que o tambor do samba exale o aroma das flores e afaste todos os dissabores, numa celebração da vida, da fé e da energia que brota do ventre do Ayê.

SETOR 1 – O CHAMADO DA FLORESTA E DE SEUS GUARDIÕES
O primeiro setor estabelece a conexão fundamental entre homem e natureza. As bênçãos dos pajés e curandeiros são a base de toda a narrativa, anunciando que a cura – tanto do corpo quanto do espírito – nasce do contato profundo com a mata e suas energias. A exaltação dos sons e aromas demonstra como a alegria e o equilíbrio podem florescer quando respeitamos e valorizamos a sabedoria natural.
Vamos ser transportados ao interior da floresta, onde a natureza é a grande protagonista. O canto dos pássaros (o gorjear que anuncia a vida) e o balançar das árvores ao som das cascatas servem como sinal de boas-vindas. Pajés e curandeiros surgem como guardiões sagrados, a ponte entre o mundo natural e o espiritual. São eles que trazem a ancestralidade em cada reza, em cada folha sagrada.
O cheiro de beijoim perfuma o ar, anunciando o poder místico que paira sobre o ambiente. Nesse contexto, surgem as energias de Ossain e Aroni – entidades que dançam num bailado ritualístico, convidando todos a mergulhar nesse universo de fé, renovação e respeito à Terra. A força do primeiro setor está em mostrar que a floresta não é apenas paisagem: ela é viva, mágica e protetora, abençoando cada passo desse desfile.

SETOR 2 – O SENHOR DAS FOLHAS E A CURA PELOS SABERES ANCESTRAIS
No segundo setor, o desfile destaca a força da herança ancestral e o valor do conhecimento transmitido pelos mais velhos. Ao incorporar São Benedito (em sincretismo com Catendê), o enredo expande a noção de que as crenças se entrelaçam, somando catolicismo popular e tradições africanas em torno do valor medicinal das plantas. Assim, as folhas se tornam ponte entre a terra e o divino, reforçando que a maior farmácia do mundo está na própria mata, onde fé e natureza se unem para curar corpo e alma.
Assim, aprofunda-se no poder curativo das plantas, transmitindo a ideia de que a mata não apenas encanta com sua beleza, mas também oferece remédios naturais capazes de eliminar enfermidades. O “Senhor das Folhas” é a figura central que, com sabedoria milenar, conhece cada erva e suas propriedades. É ele quem macera, amassa e prepara unguentos, chás e banhos purificadores para afastar as epidemias e trazer equilíbrio espiritual.
Neste cenário, São Benedito, cultuado como símbolo de humildade e caridade, surge em sincronia espiritual com Catendê, reforçando o sincretismo religioso. Assim como Catendê, São Benedito é lembrado por sua proximidade com as ervas e seu poder de cura, demonstrando que o conhecimento da floresta, aliado à fé, atravessa barreiras culturais.
Aqui, vemos ainda como a tradição se manifesta na bengala do velho que, ao bater no chão, “quebra a mandinga” e protege contra o mal. Os caboclos, ligados à raiz indígena, mostram sua bravura e fé ao bradarem “Okê Arô!”, saudação e pedido de força aos Orixás da natureza. Esse setor ressalta a herança dos antepassados que, de geração em geração, compartilham o conhecimento sobre as folhas e as formas de cura.

SETOR 3 – O CARNAVAL COMO A CURA PELA ALEGRIA
No último setor, a festa explode em cores, ritmos e sorrisos, representando o ponto alto dessa narrativa de cura. Surge então o Carnaval como o grande remédio da alma, a manifestação cultural que une a todos em comunhão. Aqui, a cura não se dá apenas através das ervas ou dos banhos de abô, mas também pela alegria, pelo riso e pela dança. O toque dos tambores e a vibração do samba elevam o espírito, trazendo axé, proteção e amor.
Assim, “Saravá, atotô!” ecoa pelo ar, pedindo ao divino que leve embora todas as dores e dissonâncias. O samba, agora fortalecido por tudo que foi vivido ao longo do enredo, se torna capaz de afastar os dissabores e trazer a esperança. Competing in the Série Bronze of Rio’s Carnival, Novo Império has just released the synopsis of its 2026 enredo. The school will bring to Intendente Magalhães the theme “In the Sacred Chant of Shamans and Healers: The Cure That Springs from the Forest”, developed by carnival designers Alex Santiago and Elvis Luiz.
The school has decided to commission the samba-enredo directly from its in-house composers. The song will be presented on September 7 during a grand celebration marking the school’s anniversary.

SYNOPSIS
With the blessings of shamans and healers, Novo Império raises its banner to sing of the ancestral power of the forest. Among the birdsong and the swaying trees dancing to the rhythm of cascading waters, emerges the magic that perfumes life with the scent of beijoim. The energies of Ossain and Aroni, in a mystical dance, invite all to bathe in faith and renewal.
We invoke the “Lord of the Leaves” and the healing power of medicinal plants, a legacy from our ancestors, who crushed pain and banished epidemics. To the sound of samba, seeds of love bloom, healing wounds and bringing hope. From staffs that break hexes to caboclos who cry out “Okê Arô!”, ancient wisdom returns: the shaman, the healer, the grandfather who teaches the abô bath — all of them hold the forest’s secret, the infallible recipe against fear.
Behold, joy finds its home: saravá, atotô! May axé flow freely down the Avenue, calling for more love and protection. It’s the celebration of the sacred chant, where healing comes not only from the leaves, but also from the smile, from communion, and from the rhythm of our hearts. May the samba drum exhale the scent of flowers and drive away all sorrows, in a celebration of life, faith, and the energy that springs from the womb of Ayê.

SECTOR 1 – THE CALL OF THE FOREST AND ITS GUARDIANS
The first sector establishes the essential connection between humans and nature. The blessings of shamans and healers form the foundation of this narrative, proclaiming that healing — of both body and spirit — arises from deep communion with the forest and its energies. The exaltation of sounds and scents shows how joy and balance can flourish when we honor and respect natural wisdom.
We are transported to the heart of the forest, where nature takes center stage. The birdsong (announcing life) and the rustling of trees to the sound of waterfalls serve as a welcoming prelude. Shamans and healers appear as sacred guardians — the bridge between the natural and the spiritual worlds. They bring the weight of ancestry in every prayer, in every sacred leaf. The scent of beijoim perfumes the air, signaling the mystical power that envelops the environment.
In this context, we encounter the energies of Ossain and Aroni — spiritual entities who perform a ritualistic dance, inviting all to immerse themselves in this realm of faith, renewal, and reverence for the Earth. The strength of this sector lies in its affirmation: the forest is not just a landscape — it is alive, magical, and protective, blessing every step of this parade.

SECTOR 2 – THE LORD OF THE LEAVES AND HEALING THROUGH ANCESTRAL KNOWLEDGE
The second sector highlights the power of ancestral heritage and the value of knowledge passed down by elders. By incorporating Saint Benedict (in syncretism with Catendê), the narrative broadens to show how belief systems intertwine, blending popular Catholicism and African traditions around the medicinal value of plants.
Thus, the leaves become a bridge between the earth and the divine, affirming that the world’s greatest pharmacy lies within the forest itself — where faith and nature unite to heal both body and soul.
Here, we delve deeper into the forest’s healing power, reinforcing that it not only enchants with beauty but also provides natural remedies that cure illness. The “Lord of the Leaves” is the central figure who, with ancient wisdom, knows every herb and its properties. He crushes, grinds, and prepares ointments, teas, and purifying baths to dispel disease and restore spiritual balance.
Within this scene, Saint Benedict — venerated as a symbol of humility and charity — appears in spiritual harmony with Catendê, reinforcing religious syncretism. Like Catendê, Saint Benedict is remembered for his closeness to the herbs and his healing power, proving that forest knowledge, when combined with faith, transcends cultural boundaries.
Here, too, we see tradition in action: the old man’s staff that, when struck upon the ground, “breaks the curse” and offers protection. The caboclos, linked to Indigenous roots, reveal their strength and devotion as they cry out “Okê Arô!”, a greeting and plea for strength to the Orixás of nature. This sector celebrates the ancestral legacy passed down through generations, sharing knowledge of the leaves and their healing ways.

SECTOR 3 – CARNIVAL AS HEALING THROUGH JOY
In the final sector, the celebration explodes in color, rhythm, and smiles, representing the climax of this healing journey. Carnival emerges as the ultimate medicine for the soul, a cultural expression that unites all in joyful communion. Here, healing comes not only through herbs or abô baths, but through laughter, dance, and joy.
The beat of the drums and the pulse of samba elevate the spirit, bringing axé, protection, and love. Thus, “Saravá, atotô!” echoes through the air, asking the divine to carry away all sorrow and dissonance. Strengthened by all that has been lived throughout the parade, the samba becomes a force capable of dispelling pain and kindling hope.
It is at this moment that we understand: faith, when joined with joy, can enchant and heal hearts.
By leading this journey through the sacred forest and ancestral wisdom, Novo Império reminds us that the secret to healing lies both in the leaves and in the celebration.
