On Cosme and Damião Day, Imperatriz Leopoldinense Institute distributes 3,000 bags of sweets to children in the Complexo do Alemão

Em dia de Cosme e Damião, Instituto Imperatriz Leopoldinense distribui 3 mil doces para crianças do Complexo do Alemão*

_Além da doação tradicional dos doces, instituição também distribuiu iogurtes para a comunidade_

A manhã de sábado (27) foi doce para as crianças do Complexo do Alemão e de todas as comunidades que fazem parte da Zona da Leopoldina.

No tradicional dia de São Cosme e São Damião, a Imperatriz Leopoldinense e o Instituto Imperatriz fizeram a festa da criançada com a distribuição de 3 mil saquinhos de doces. E além das famosas guloseimas, a Rainha de Ramos também realizou a doação de iogurtes para os presentes.

Por volta das 10h30, a quadra da Imperatriz, em Ramos, Zona da Leopoldina do Rio, já estava lotada e com fila dando volta no quarteirão. O presidente do Instituto Imperatriz, João Drumond, ressaltou a importância da data e de cada vez mais ações voltadas às famílias da região.

“É uma tradição do carioca, e a Imperatriz já realiza a atividade há muitos anos. É maravilhoso ver a alegria de cada um que chega aqui cedo, aguarda e sai sorrindo com o seu saquinho de doce. A gente adoça a vida de uma criança e também das famílias que vivem em situações difíceis, e isso é muito especial. Não importa a ocasião: seja Natal, Páscoa ou neste dia, o Instituto Imperatriz tem como objetivo fazer o próximo sorrir e colaborar para a qualidade de vida de todos. Salve a Ibejada”, afirmou João.

A presidente da Imperatriz, Catia Drumond, também participou da ação e destacou o prazer em proporcionar a clássica comemoração:

“É sempre um prazer. Todo ato transforma a vida de muitas famílias. E estamos falando do futuro dessas crianças. Então, a gente espera que todas elas tenham um futuro muito doce. Se cada um fizer sua parte, a lembrança desse momento será pra sempre”.

O Instituto Imperatriz Leopoldinense é uma entidade sem fins lucrativos, que tem como finalidade única promover cidadania, empatia, oportunidade e amor ao próximo.

Saturday morning (27) was sweet for children from Complexo do Alemão and all the communities that are part of Rio’s Leopoldina Zone. On the traditional day of Saints Cosme and Damião, Imperatriz Leopoldinense and the Imperatriz Institute delighted the little ones by distributing 3,000 bags of sweets. And beyond the much-loved treats, the “Rainha de Ramos” also donated yogurts to those in attendance.
By around 10:30 a.m., Imperatriz’s headquarters in Ramos, located in the Leopoldina Zone of Rio, was already packed, with lines circling the block. The president of the Imperatriz Institute, João Drumond, highlighted the importance of the date and the growing need for initiatives aimed at families in the region.
“It’s a Carioca tradition, and Imperatriz has been carrying out this activity for many years. It’s wonderful to see the joy of each person who arrives early, waits patiently, and leaves with a smile and a bag of sweets. We sweeten the life of a child and also of families living in difficult situations, and that is very special. No matter the occasion—be it Christmas, Easter, or this day—the mission of the Imperatriz Institute is to bring a smile to others and contribute to everyone’s quality of life. Imperatriz’s president, Catia Drumond, also took part in the initiative and emphasized the joy of offering this classic celebration:
“It’s always a pleasure. Every act transforms the lives of many families. And we are talking about the future of these children. So, we hope they all have a very sweet future. If everyone does their part, the memory of this moment will last forever.”
The Imperatriz Leopoldinense Institute is a non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to promote citizenship, empathy, opportunity, and love for others.
