Operação Contenção: Polícia Civil deflagra ação contra fornecimento de armas e drogas para expansão territorial de facção no Rio e em outros estados

Ação integrada mira núcleo financeiro e logístico de organização criminosa. Até o momento, seis criminosos foram presos

Policiais civis da 60ª DP (Campos Elíseos) realizam, nesta terça-feira (13/05), uma operação conjunta com o Ministério Público, por meio do Gaeco, contra criminosos responsáveis pelo fornecimento de armas e drogas ilícitas para o Comando Vermelho. A ação, que é parte da “Operação Contenção”, ocorre no Rio de Janeiro e em outros três estados. A investigação revelou que o armamento seria usado no fortalecimento e em expansões territoriais da facção no Rio, inclusive na Zona Oeste da capital, e em outros estados da federação. Até o momento, seis criminosos foram presos.

Os agentes estão nas ruas para cumprir 22 mandados de prisão e 39 de busca e apreensão nos municípios do Rio, Maricá e Resende, além de endereços em São Paulo, Mato Grosso e Rondônia. Os alvos vão responder por associação para o tráfico de drogas com emprego de arma de fogo e entre estados da Federação, falsidade ideológica, porte ilegal de arma de fogo de uso restrito e comércio ilegal de arma de fogo.

– Não vamos permitir que organizações criminosas avancem sobre o território fluminense. Esta operação é mais uma demonstração de que o Estado está agindo com inteligência, integração e firmeza para sufocar financeiramente o crime organizado – afirma o governador Cláudio Castro.

A apuração da 60ª DP, com o apoio do Gabinete de Recuperação de Ativos (GRA) da Polícia Civil, desvendou toda a organização criminosa interestadual que abastece o CV. O grupo tinha um esquema minucioso e sofisticado com núcleos operando em diversas comunidades do Rio de Janeiro e integrantes atuantes em outros estados do país. As condutas envolviam ainda lavagem de dinheiro. Foi observada uma movimentação de R$ 5 milhões em menos de um mês, por exemplo. Por conta disso, os agentes representaram pelo bloqueio de cerca de R$ 40 milhões em bens e valores de pessoas físicas e jurídicas ligadas ao grupo.

– A operação desta terça foi planejada a partir de uma investigação muito profunda. Nosso objetivo é conter a expansão do Comando Vermelho, desarticular o esquema de lavagem de dinheiro e ainda combater o fornecimento de armas. Os resultados que estamos obtendo, com prisões e apreensões, são fundamentais para a população fluminense – detalha o secretário de Polícia Civil, Felipe Curi.

Além da captura dos alvos e da coleta de evidências para robustecer as investigações, a operação também busca a asfixia financeira do grupo, para interromper esse engrenagem. A consequência imediata esperada é a interrupção na logística para obtenção de armas e de drogas a lideranças do CV que atuam em diversas comunidades.

Todo o trabalho investigativo teve ainda a colaboração da Polícia Rodoviária Federal, da Receita Federal, do Exército Brasileiro e do Homeland Security Investigations dos Estados Unidos. As diligências de hoje têm apoio de delegacias do Departamento-Geral de Polícia Especializada (DGPE) e da Coordenadoria de Recursos Especiais (Core), além das Polícias Civis de São Paulo, Mato Grosso e Rondônia.

A ação faz parte da “Operação Contenção”, uma ofensiva estratégica para conter e atacar o avanço territorial da facção criminosa Comando Vermelho na Zona Oeste do Rio. O principal objetivo é desarticular a estrutura financeira, logística e operacional da organização criminosa, além de prender traficantes que atuam na região. Até o momento, em etapas anteriores, já foi solicitado bloqueio de mais de R$ 6 bilhões em bens e valores da facção criminosa.

Operation Containment: Civil Police Launch Action Against Weapons and Drug Supply Network Aiding Criminal Faction Expansion in Rio and Other States

Coordinated operation targets the financial and logistical core of a criminal organization. So far, six individuals have been arrested.

Civil police officers from the 60th Precinct (Campos Elíseos) are carrying out a joint operation this Tuesday (May 13) with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, through Gaeco, targeting criminals responsible for supplying firearms and illicit drugs to the Comando Vermelho (Red Command). The action, part of Operation Containment, is taking place in Rio de Janeiro and three other states. The investigation revealed that the weapons were intended to strengthen and expand the faction’s territorial control in Rio, particularly in the West Zone, as well as in other states across Brazil. So far, six individuals have been arrested.

Officers are on the streets to serve 22 arrest warrants and 39 search and seizure warrants in the cities of Rio de Janeiro, Maricá, and Resende, as well as locations in São Paulo, Mato Grosso, and Rondônia. The suspects will face charges including drug trafficking association involving firearms and interstate activity, identity fraud, unlawful possession of restricted firearms, and illegal arms trade.

“We will not allow criminal organizations to take over territory in the state of Rio. This operation is yet another demonstration that the state is acting with intelligence, coordination, and determination to financially suffocate organized crime,” stated Governor Cláudio Castro.

The investigation by the 60th Precinct, with support from the Civil Police’s Asset Recovery Office (GRA), uncovered the entire interstate criminal organization that supplies the Comando Vermelho. The group operated with a detailed and sophisticated scheme, with operational cells in various communities across Rio de Janeiro and members active in other states. Their activities also involved money laundering, with investigators noting over R$ 5 million in transactions within a single month. As a result, authorities requested the freezing of approximately R$ 40 million in assets and funds linked to individuals and businesses associated with the group.

“This Tuesday’s operation was the result of a very thorough investigation. Our goal is to stop the expansion of Comando Vermelho, dismantle their money laundering network, and combat the supply of weapons. The arrests and seizures we are making are crucial for the safety of the people of Rio,” explained Civil Police Secretary Felipe Curi.

In addition to capturing the suspects and collecting evidence to strengthen the investigation, the operation also aims to financially cripple the group and shut down its logistics chain. The immediate expected outcome is to disrupt the supply of weapons and drugs to Comando Vermelho leaders operating in several communities.

The investigation also received support from the Federal Highway Police, the Federal Revenue Service, the Brazilian Army, and the U.S. Homeland Security Investigations. Today’s actions are supported by precincts under the General Department of Specialized Police (DGPE), the Special Resources Coordination (Core), and the Civil Police forces of São Paulo, Mato Grosso, and Rondônia.

This operation is part of Operation Containment, a strategic offensive aimed at stopping the territorial expansion of the Comando Vermelho in Rio’s West Zone. The main goal is to dismantle the financial, logistical, and operational structure of the criminal organization and arrest drug traffickers active in the region. In previous phases, authorities have already requested the freezing of more than R$ 6 billion in assets linked to the faction.
