Concurso Corte Real Carnaval 2026 celebra a diversidade em eleição de Muso, Musa e Pessoa Não-Binária em semifinal no dia 16, e final, no 23

Organizado pela Riotur, evento na Cidade do Samba homenageia a carnavalesca Maria Augusta (semifinal) e a Preta Gil (final)
O Concurso Corte Real Carnaval 2026, iniciado no último dia 9, segue a todo vapor na Cidade do Samba para eleger a toda a realeza carnavalesca do Rio de Janeiro no próximo ano. A partir desta semana, começam as disputas para decidir, oficialmente, o Muso, a Musa e a Pessoa Não-Binária que representarão a comunidade LGBT+ na maior festa do mundo. Nos dias 16 e 23 de outubro acontecerão, respectivamente, a semifinal e a final, embalados por shows e homenagens que prometem emocionar o público.
Com entrada gratuita, o espaço recebe uma grande festa popular, com uma emocionante competição, embalada por muita música. As apresentações acontecem sempre a partir das 19h, na Cidade do Samba, e contam com transmissão ao vivo nos canais da Riotur (@Rioturoficial) e Fita Amarela (@Fitamarela) no YouTube.

Grande Rio e a Imperatriz Leopoldinense estão entre as atrações da competição LGBT+
No dia 16 (quinta-feira), a semifinal contará com 19 candidatos a Muso, 12 candidatas a Musa e 10 a Pessoa Não-Binária. Neste dia, a disputa será aberta pelo grupo musical Sapagode, exclusivamente formado por mulheres musicistas do samba. Em seguida, a Grande Rio, escola campeã de Caxias, vai levar a força da Baixada Fluminense para o palco, prometendo um espetáculo com seus dançarinos e fantasias. Como nos dias anteriores, o grupo Rio Samba Show conduzirá a disputa através de seus ritmistas, e antes do encerramento, a artista e drag queen Karoline Absinto irá se apresentar com todo seu talento, bom-humor e carisma.

Já na final (23), disputarão 10 candidatos a Muso, 10 a Musa e oito à Pessoa Não-Binária que forem classificados na semana anterior. Como abertura da noite, o famoso Samba Que Elas Querem, também formado exclusivamente por mulheres e sucesso nas melhores rodas de samba do Rio, irá aquecer os ânimos. Logo depois, a gigante Imperatriz Leopoldinense irá marcar presença com toda sua tradição de escola campeã com desfiles históricos, sendo sucedida pela artista Maime dos Brilhos, com sua performance criativa. Após as disputas, a artista e drag queen Karina Karão irá fazer sua apresentação musical, seguido do grupo Sambay, uma roda de samba dedicada ao movimento LGBT+, para encerrar a noite com chave de ouro.
Sobre o Concurso Corte Real Carnaval 2026
O Concurso Corte Real é uma das tradições mais queridas do carnaval carioca. Realizado pela Riotur, o evento escolhe o Rei Momo, a Rainha e as Princesas do Carnaval. O ano de 2026 será a segunda vez em que a Corte LGBT+ fará parte do calendário oficial da disputa, valorizando a importância e a força da comunidade para o carnaval do Rio. Essa edição também traz o tema “Celebrando a Ancestralidade”, com homenagens a grandes nomes do samba e apresentações de grupos consagrados da cultura popular, consolidando a Cidade do Samba como ponto de encontro dos amantes do carnaval. No dia 16, a homenageada será a carnavalesca Maria Augusta, com passagens históricas pelo Salgueiro e União da Ilha. Já o dia 23 será dedicado à memória de Preta Gil, uma das grandes personalidades brasileiras e figuras midiáticas das últimas décadas.

The Royal Court Contest – Carnival 2026, which began on October 9, continues at full steam at Cidade do Samba to choose the full carnival royalty of Rio de Janeiro for next year. Starting this week, the competitions officially begin to elect the Muso, Musa and Non-Binary Person who will represent the LGBT+ community in the greatest party in the world. The semifinal and final rounds will take place on October 16 and 23, respectively, filled with musical performances and tributes that promise to thrill the audience.
With free admission, the venue will host a major popular celebration, featuring an exciting competition fueled by music and samba. The presentations always begin at 7 PM at Cidade do Samba and will be broadcast live on Riotur’s YouTube channel (@Rioturoficial) and Fita Amarela (@Fitamarela).
Grande Rio and Imperatriz Leopoldinense among the highlights of the LGBT+ competition
On October 16 (Thursday), the semifinal will feature 19 Muso candidates, 12 Musa candidates, and 10 Non-Binary candidates. The night will open with the musical group Sapagode, formed exclusively by women musicians of samba. Then, Acadêmicos do Grande Rio, the champion school from Caxias, will take the stage bringing the strength of Baixada Fluminense with its dancers and costumes. As in previous rounds, Rio Samba Show will lead the competition alongside its percussionists. Before the closing, artist and drag queen Karoline Absinto will perform with great talent, humor and charisma.
At the final on October 23 (Thursday), 10 Muso candidates, 10 Musa candidates and eight Non-Binary candidates who qualify in the previous week will compete. The night will open with Samba Que Elas Querem, the acclaimed samba group formed entirely by women, a success in the best samba circles of Rio. Right after, the iconic Imperatriz Leopoldinense will shine with the tradition of a champion school with historic parades, followed by a creative performance by artist Maime dos Brilhos. After the competition, drag artist Karina Karão will give a musical performance, and the evening will end with Sambay, a samba circle dedicated to the LGBT+ movement.
About the Royal Court Contest – Carnival 2026
The Royal Court Contest is one of the most beloved traditions of Rio’s carnival. Organized by Riotur, the event selects the King Momo, the Queen, and the Princesses of Carnival. The year 2026 marks the second time the LGBT+ Royal Court is officially part of the competition calendar, highlighting the importance and strength of the LGBT+ community in Rio’s carnival. This edition also carries the theme “Celebrating Ancestry”, paying tribute to major figures of samba and featuring performances by renowned groups of popular culture, reinforcing Cidade do Samba as a meeting point for carnival lovers.
On October 16, the honoree will be Maria Augusta, an important carnival designer with historic contributions to Salgueiro and União da Ilha. On October 23, the tribute will be dedicated to the memory of Preta Gil, one of the greatest Brazilian cultural icons and media figures of recent decades.
