Salgueiro participa da confecção de tapetes de sal para procissão de Corpus Christi no Centro do Rio

A convite da Arquidiocese do Rio de Janeiro, a escola de samba Acadêmicos do Salgueiro participará mais uma vez da tradicional confecção de tapetes de sal para a procissão de Corpus Christi, que acontece na próxima quinta-feira, dia 19 de junho, no Centro da cidade.

O convite partiu do Padre Wagner, responsável pela Catedral Metropolitana, e teve reforço do cardeal Dom Orani Tempesta, que solicitou a presença de todas as escolas de samba do Grupo Especial do Rio. Como pioneiro na iniciativa em anos anteriores, o Salgueiro foi novamente chamado a representar sua comunidade com arte e devoção.

Este ano, o tapete criado pela escola terá como tema “Rosas para Cristo”, unindo elementos da fé católica à simbologia do enredo salgueirense de 2026, que também traz a rosa como elemento central. A proposta une espiritualidade, arte e a identidade do Salgueiro, em uma homenagem que valoriza a tradição e o respeito à cultura religiosa.

A montagem do tapete terá início às 5h da manhã, com concentração marcada para as 4h na Catedral. A conclusão está prevista para as 11h.

A direção da agremiação convida todos os segmentos e integrantes a contribuírem com a construção do tapete, que será um dos destaques da celebração religiosa.

Salgueiro Participates in the Creation of Salt Carpets for Corpus Christi Procession in Downtown Rio

At the invitation of the Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro, the samba school Acadêmicos do Salgueiro will once again take part in the traditional creation of salt carpets for the Corpus Christi procession, which will take place next Thursday, June 19, in downtown Rio.

The invitation came from Father Wagner, responsible for the Metropolitan Cathedral, with the support of Cardinal Dom Orani Tempesta, who called on all samba schools from Rio’s Special Group to participate. As a pioneer of the initiative in previous years, Salgueiro was once again invited to represent its community with art and devotion.

This year, the carpet designed by the school will carry the theme “Roses for Christ”, combining elements of the Catholic faith with the symbolism of Salgueiro’s 2026 carnival theme, which also features the rose as a central element. The concept blends spirituality, artistry, and Salgueiro’s identity in a tribute that honors tradition and religious culture.

Assembly of the carpet will begin at 5 a.m., with participants gathering at the Cathedral at 4 a.m. Completion is expected by 11 a.m.

The school’s leadership invites all wings and members to contribute to the creation of the carpet, which will be one of the highlights of the religious celebration.
