Criminoso, com mais de 20 anotações criminais, era o principal alvo da Polícia Civil em operação contra roubos de carga e financiamento ao crime organizado

O Governo do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, por meio da Polícia Civil, prendeu o principal líder do tráfico de drogas do Complexo do Caju, nesta segunda-feira (16/06), durante uma ação na comunidade Parque Alegria. O criminoso também é investigado por roubos de carga e era um dos foragidos mais procurados da região. A ação faz parte da segunda fase da Operação Torniquete, que tem como foco desarticular o esquema de financiamento das facções criminosas.

A captura foi realizada por agentes da Delegacia de Roubos e Furtos de Cargas (DRFC), com apoio da Delegacia de Repressão a Entorpecentes (DRE), após semanas de investigações e monitoramento de inteligência. 

Segundo as investigações, o bandido comandava ações criminosas que incluíam o monitoramento de caminhões com cargas valiosas que deixavam a Zona Portuária. Os veículos eram interceptados e os produtos levados para o Caju e para comunidades da Maré, onde havia uma espécie de “consórcio” entre criminosos. O preso era quem definia o destino das cargas e a divisão dos lucros.

Com 20 anotações criminais, o traficante já acumula mais de 49 anos de condenações por crimes como homicídio, tráfico, associação para o tráfico, roubo majorado e organização criminosa. Ele havia sido preso anteriormente pela Polícia Civil, em uma operação há quase sete anos, e estava em liberdade há pouco mais de um ano. Também foi um dos responsáveis por fomentar a guerra de facções na Rocinha, em 2017.

Desde setembro de 2024, a Operação Torniquete já prendeu mais de 535 criminosos. As ações resultaram na recuperação de cargas e veículos avaliados em cerca de R$ 38 milhões e no bloqueio de mais de R$ 70 milhões em bens. O objetivo é sufocar o financiamento de facções, desestruturar suas redes criminosas e reduzir os índices de violência.

The Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro, through the Civil Police, arrested the main leader of drug trafficking in the Complexo do Caju on Monday (June 16), during an operation in the Parque Alegria community. The criminal is also under investigation for cargo theft and was one of the region’s most wanted fugitives.
The arrest was part of the second phase of Operation Torniquete, which aims to dismantle the financial infrastructure of criminal factions. The operation was carried out by agents from the Cargo Theft Division (DRFC), with support from the Narcotics Division (DRE), following weeks of investigations and intelligence monitoring.
According to the investigation, the offender led criminal activities that included tracking trucks carrying valuable cargo leaving the Port Zone. These vehicles were intercepted, and the goods were taken to Caju and to communities in Maré, where there was a kind of “consortium” among criminals. The arrested leader was responsible for determining the destination of the stolen cargo and the division of profits.
With 20 criminal records, the trafficker has accumulated over 49 years in convictions for crimes such as homicide, drug trafficking, criminal association, aggravated robbery, and participation in a criminal organization. He had previously been arrested by the Civil Police in an operation nearly seven years ago and had been free for just over a year. He was also one of those responsible for fueling the gang war in Rocinha in 2017.
Since September 2024, Operation Torniquete has led to the arrest of over 535 criminals. The actions have resulted in the recovery of cargo and vehicles valued at approximately R$38 million and the freezing of over R$70 million in assets. The goal is to cut off funding to criminal factions, dismantle their criminal networks, and reduce violence.
