With Support from Instituto Imperatriz Leopoldinense, Athletes from Alemão and Maré Complexes to Compete in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship in São Paulo

Com apoio do Instituto Imperatriz Leopoldinense, atletas dos Complexos do Alemão e da Maré vão disputar campeonato brasileiro de Jiu-Jitsu em São Paulo

Competição acontece nos dias 14 e 15 de junho, em Barueri, e vai contar com 7 moradores do Complexo do Alemão, Piscinão e Nova Holanda

O Instituto Imperatriz Leopoldinense segue investindo nos sonhos das crianças e adolescentes de sua comunidade.

Em mais uma ação social da entidade sem fins lucrativos, sete jovens moradores dos Complexos do Alemão e da Maré irão disputar, no próximo fim de semana, em São Paulo, o Campeonato Brasileiro Kids de Jiu-Jitsu.

Com a viagem patrocinada pelo Instituto, os jovens, oriundos da ONG ‘Talentos do Morro’, que atende 500 crianças da região, embarcam já nesta quinta-feira (12), ao lado dos professores Wilson Barbosa, o Gracie da Maré, e Kleber Barbosa, o Binho, para o município de Barueri, onde irá acontecer a competição.

O presidente do Instituto Imperatriz e também atual diretor financeiro da LIESA, João Drumond, celebrou a classificação dos jovens para o campeonato e reforçou o compromisso e responsabilidade da organização com todos os atendidos.

“É fundamental investir no talento daqueles que representam o futuro das nossas comunidades. Independentemente do resultado, esses jovens já são vitoriosos só pela oportunidade de competir, e fazer parte deste momento nos orgulha muito. O esporte transforma vidas e, no que depender do Instituto Imperatriz, muitas pessoas serão impactadas positivamente. Isso é só o começo”, afirmou João.

As aulas gratuitas de Jiu-Jitsu para a comunidade da Zona da Leopoldina e bairros vizinhos na quadra da Imperatriz começam em breve. Segundo Vanessa Malfacini, diretora do Instituto, todas as informações de dias e horários serão divulgadas ainda este mês, juntamente com os horários das aulas de samba no pé, de Zumba e também de funcional e alongamento.

Hoje, o Instituto Imperatriz já conta com turmas de ballet para crianças e adultos. As aulas acontecem na quadra da agremiação, que fica na Rua Professor Lacé, 235, em Ramos.

The competition will take place on June 14th and 15th in Barueri and will include 7 residents from Complexo do Alemão, Piscinão, and Nova Holanda.

Instituto Imperatriz Leopoldinense continues to invest in the dreams of children and teenagers in its community.

In another social initiative from the non-profit organization, seven young residents from the Alemão and Maré Complexes will compete this coming weekend in São Paulo at the Brazilian Kids Jiu-Jitsu Championship.

Sponsored by the Institute, the young athletes — part of the NGO Talentos do Morro, which serves 500 children in the area — will travel this Thursday (June 12th) accompanied by coaches Wilson Barbosa, known as Gracie da Maré, and Kleber Barbosa, also known as Binho, to the city of Barueri, where the tournament will be held.

João Drumond, president of Instituto Imperatriz and current financial director of LIESA, celebrated the athletes’ qualification and reinforced the organization’s commitment and responsibility to the community.

“It’s essential to invest in the talent of those who represent the future of our communities. Regardless of the outcome, these young people are already champions for having this opportunity to compete. We are proud to be part of this moment. Sports transform lives, and as long as Instituto Imperatriz exists, many lives will be positively impacted. This is just the beginning,” said João.

Free Jiu-Jitsu classes for the Zona da Leopoldina community and surrounding neighborhoods will begin soon at the Imperatriz headquarters. According to Vanessa Malfacini, the Institute’s director, the full schedule — including Jiu-Jitsu, samba dancing, Zumba, fitness training, and stretching — will be announced later this month.

Currently, Instituto Imperatriz already offers ballet classes for children and adults. These classes take place at the samba school’s headquarters, located at Rua Professor Lacé, 235, in Ramos.
