Back to School: Government Invests Over R$30 Million in Renovations for State Public Schools

Volta às aulas: Governo investe mais de R$ 30 milhões em reformas das escolas da rede estadual

Intervenções realizadas durante as férias vão melhorar a infraestrutura das unidades

Enquanto os alunos aproveitam o recesso escolar, o trabalho na rede estadual de ensino não para. Para receber os alunos na volta às aulas, a partir desta segunda-feira (28/07), o Governo do Estado do Rio investiu mais de R$ 30 milhões em reformas e obras de manutenção nas escolas. As intervenções realizadas pela Secretaria de Educação refletem o compromisso com a qualidade do ensino, a aprendizagem e a valorização do ambiente escolar.

Entre os serviços realizados estão reformas de quadras esportivas, cozinhas, banheiros, vestiários, refeitórios e bibliotecas, além da instalação ou troca de aparelhos de ar-condicionado, manutenção de telhados, pisos e pintura completa das áreas internas e externas.

– Cada melhoria realizada reflete diretamente no processo de aprendizagem, proporcionando mais qualidade e motivação aos alunos. A escola é um espaço de transformação e, antes mesmo de ser um local de aquisição de conhecimento, precisa ser um ambiente acolhedor, onde cada estudante se sinta seguro e inspirado a construir um futuro melhor – ressaltou o governador Cláudio Castro.

No Colégio Estadual Professora Maria de Nazareth, de Cascadura, na Zona Norte do Rio, por exemplo, foi realizada reforma de quadra e banheiro e a construção de banheiro para pessoas com deficiência.

– Essa revitalização é muito especial e estamos animados. Nossa quadra estava fechada, sem condições de uso e estávamos fazendo trabalho em um espaço adaptado. Com a quadra reaberta poderemos não só oferecer diversas modalidades esportivas, mas também pode ser usada para eventos e outras ações que planejamos – declarou o diretor-geral da unidade, André Barroso.

Além de promover a melhoria da infraestrutura, o investimento também busca garantir condições adequadas para a permanência dos alunos na escola, reduzindo a evasão escolar e ampliando o sentimento de pertencimento da comunidade escolar.

– Nosso objetivo é assegurar uma melhor infraestrutura para nossos alunos e profissionais da educação. Temos o compromisso de oferecer um ambiente confortável, a fim de garantir o acesso e a permanência dos estudantes dentro da sala de aula. A escola é uma extensão da casa de todos nós e, por isso, precisamos cuidar dela – destacou Roberta Barreto, secretária de Estado de Educação.

Back to School: Government Invests Over R$30 Million in Renovations for State Public Schools

Upgrades carried out during school break aim to improve infrastructure across the network
While students enjoy their school break, work continues throughout the state education system. To welcome students back to class starting this Monday (July 28), the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro has invested over R$30 million in renovations and maintenance work in public schools. These interventions, led by the State Department of Education, reflect a commitment to quality education, student learning, and the enhancement of the school environment.
The services carried out include the renovation of sports courts, kitchens, restrooms, locker rooms, cafeterias, and libraries, as well as the installation or replacement of air-conditioning units, roof and flooring maintenance, and complete interior and exterior painting.
“Every improvement we make has a direct impact on the learning process, offering more quality and motivation to our students. A school is a place of transformation, and even before it becomes a center of knowledge, it must be a welcoming environment where every student feels safe and inspired to build a better future,” said Governor Cláudio Castro.
At Colégio Estadual Professora Maria de Nazareth in Cascadura, in the North Zone of Rio, for example, the renovations included updates to the sports court and restrooms, as well as the construction of an accessible restroom for people with disabilities.
“This revitalization means a lot to us, and we’re very excited. Our court had been closed and unusable, so we were using an improvised space. Now that it’s reopened, we’ll be able to offer various sports activities and also use it for events and other planned initiatives,” said the school’s principal, André Barroso.
Beyond improving infrastructure, this investment also aims to create the necessary conditions for students to remain in school, reducing dropout rates and strengthening the sense of belonging within the school community.
“Our goal is to ensure better infrastructure for both students and education professionals. We are committed to providing a comfortable environment that guarantees students not only access to education but also the conditions to stay in the classroom. A school is an extension of our homes, and that’s why we must take care of it,” emphasized Roberta Barreto, the State Secretary of Education.
