Faleceu nesta sexta-feira, 1º de agosto, Ana Cristina Vosta Gomes — mãe do rapper BK e uma das vozes mais importantes da luta antirracista e feminista no Brasil. Doutora, pesquisadora e ativista incansável, Ana Cristina foi uma das fundadoras do Movimento de Mulheres Negras do Rio de Janeiro e dedicou sua vida à justiça racial, à educação e à dignidade do povo negro.
O falecimento foi confirmado por seu filho, BK, por meio das redes sociais.

Ana Cristina Vosta Gomes, a Leading Voice in Brazil’s Antiracist and Feminist Movements, Passes Away

Ana Cristina Vosta Gomes — mother of rapper BK and one of the most prominent voices in Brazil’s antiracist and feminist movements — passed away this Friday, August 1. A PhD, researcher, and tireless activist, Ana Cristina was one of the founders of the Black Women’s Movement of Rio de Janeiro. She devoted her life to racial justice, education, and the dignity of the Black population.
Her passing was confirmed by her son, BK, through social media.
