Gilsinho não foi apenas a voz da Portela — foi o próprio coração azul e branco que pulsava em cada verso. Seu canto embalou momentos inesquecíveis, fez chorar de emoção gerações inteiras e se tornou parte da história viva do Carnaval do Brasil.
Com maestria e paixão, ele levou o nome da Portela ao mundo, honrando nossa tradição com talento e verdade. Hoje, sua ausência silencia o microfone, mas não apaga o eco eterno de sua voz, que continuará ressoando como canto de esperança, fé e poesia.
Em respeito à sua memória e à sua grandeza, a Portela decreta luto oficial de 3 dias.

Gilsinho was not only the voice of Portela — he was the very blue-and-white heart that pulsed through every verse. His singing carried unforgettable moments, moved generations to tears, and became part of the living history of Brazil’s Carnival.
With mastery and passion, he took the name of Portela to the world, honoring our tradition with talent and truth. Today, his absence silences the microphone, but it cannot silence the eternal echo of his voice, which will continue to resonate as a song of hope, faith, and poetry.
In respect for his memory and his greatness, Portela declares three days of official mourning.
