Tradição revela enredo em homenagem a apresentadora Gardênia Cavalcanti no Carnaval 2026

A apresentadora Gardênia Cavalcanti será o enredo da Tradição no Carnaval de 2026. A escola levará para a avenida a história de uma mulher que desabrochou como uma flor no Sertão nordestino e hoje brilha como estrela da televisão brasileira.
A novidade foi anunciada ao vivo durante o programa da homenageada, que contou com a participação da Presidente Raphaela Nascimento, do carnavalesco Leandro Valente e dos segmentos da escola. A revelação emocionou Gardênia e os telespectadores.
O desejo de transformar a Gardênia em enredo partiu do Leandro, que se encantou com sua história de superação, força e fé: “Ela tem nome de flor. Gardênia é planta de raízes fortes, flores intensamente perfumadas, que desabrocham entre a primavera e o verão. Mas a nossa Gardênia é única. Uma flor que enfrentou tempestades, noites escuras e invernos rigorosos. E mesmo assim, floresceu”, resume o artista.
Nascida em Santana do Ipanema, em Alagoas, e criada em Paulo Afonso, na Bahia, Gardênia cresceu em meio às tradições religiosas, ao bumba-meu-boi e aos festejos populares que marcam a cultura do Nordeste. Desde jovem, mostrou força e ousadia. Iniciou a carreira profissional em Recife e trilhou caminhos como executiva no setor de cosméticos, até descobrir na televisão sua grande paixão.
Surpresa com a homenagem, Gardênia não conteve a emoção: “Meu coração transborda de alegria. Ser escolhida como enredo da Tradição é algo que nunca imaginei. Estou prestes a lançar meu livro que conta a história da minha vida, que foi de luta e superação e sinto-me abraçada por essa comunidade”, disse.
O enredo, intitulado “A Menina do Sertão que virou estrela de TV”, irá celebrar não apenas a figura pública, mas a mulher por trás dos holofotes, que é mãe, esposa, devota, sonhadora e guerreira. “Lembra daquela menina sonhadora? Ela cresceu, ganhou o Brasil e os nossos corações”, concluiu Leandro.
A apresentadora, que também é musa da Grande Rio, ressaltou o simbolismo do convite. “Ser enredo é mais do que uma homenagem, é a certeza de que minha trajetória inspirou outras pessoas e de que minha arte deixou um legado. Agradeço à Tradição por me proporcionar essa emoção única”, completou.
A presidente Raphaela Nascimento destacou a importância deste enredo: “Para mim, como presidente mulher, é um grande privilégio ter um enredo de uma mulher nordestina que não veio para o Rio de Janeiro como vítima, e sim com propósito, garra e determinação. É uma história digna de um filme. Ela lutou, trabalhou e venceu. Hoje, Gardênia é um grande exemplo para outras mulheres”, disse.
Em 2026, a escola será a décima primeira a desfilar no domingo de carnaval, 15 de fevereiro, na Intendente Magalhães, pela Série Prata da Superliga Carnavalesca do Brasil.
Com referências ao sertão, às tradições populares nordestinas e às cores do Brasil, a agremiação promete um desfile emocionante, exaltando a fé, a força e a trajetória de Gardênia Cavalcanti – A menina do sertão que virou estrela de TV.

The announcement took place this Friday (3), during Band’s show “Vem com a gente”
TV host Gardênia Cavalcanti will be the theme of Tradição’s parade in Carnival 2026. The school will bring to the avenue the story of a woman who blossomed like a flower in the Northeastern Sertão and today shines as a star of Brazilian television. The news was announced live during Gardênia’s own program, with the participation of President Raphaela Nascimento, carnival designer Leandro Valente, and members of the school. The revelation moved both Gardênia and viewers.
The idea of making Gardênia the theme came from Leandro, who was captivated by her story of resilience, strength, and faith: “She has the name of a flower. The gardenia is a plant with strong roots and intensely fragrant flowers that bloom between spring and summer. But our Gardênia is unique. A flower that faced storms, dark nights, and harsh winters. And yet, she blossomed,” summed up the artist.
Born in Santana do Ipanema, Alagoas, and raised in Paulo Afonso, Bahia, Gardênia grew up surrounded by religious traditions, bumba-meu-boi festivities, and popular celebrations that mark Northeastern culture. From a young age, she showed strength and boldness. She began her professional career in Recife and followed a path as an executive in the cosmetics industry before discovering her great passion for television.
Surprised by the tribute, Gardênia could not hold back her emotions: “My heart overflows with joy. Being chosen as the theme of Tradição is something I never imagined. I am about to release my book telling the story of my life, a journey of struggle and resilience, and I feel embraced by this community,” she said.
The theme, entitled “The Girl from the Sertão Who Became a TV Star,” will celebrate not only the public figure but also the woman behind the spotlight — a mother, wife, devotee, dreamer, and warrior. “Remember that dreamy little girl? She grew up, conquered Brazil, and won our hearts,” concluded Leandro.
The host, who is also a muse of Grande Rio, emphasized the symbolic meaning of the tribute: “Being a parade theme is more than an honor; it is the assurance that my journey has inspired others and that my art has left a legacy. I thank Tradição for giving me this unique emotion,” she added.
President Raphaela Nascimento highlighted the importance of this storyline: “For me, as a female president, it is a great privilege to have the theme of a Northeastern woman who did not come to Rio de Janeiro as a victim, but with purpose, determination, and strength. It is a story worthy of a movie. She fought, worked, and triumphed. Today, Gardênia is a great example for other women,” she said.
In 2026, Tradição will be the eleventh school to parade on Sunday, February 15, at Intendente Magalhães, competing in the Silver Series of the Brazilian Carnival Super League. With references to the Sertão, Northeastern folk traditions, and the colors of Brazil, the school promises an emotional parade, celebrating the faith, strength, and life story of Gardênia Cavalcanti — the girl from the Sertão who became a TV star.
