No dia do seu aniversário, Conceição Evaristo recebe figurino que usará no Carnaval 2026

A escritora Conceição Evaristo recebeu na tarde do último sábado (29), justamente no dia em que completou 79 anos, o croqui do figurino que usará no Carnaval 2026, durante a Festa Literária das Periferias (Flup), realizada no Viaduto de Madureira. Homenageada no enredo “Ponciá Evaristo Flor do Mulungu”, que o Império Serrano levará à Marquês de Sapucaí no próximo ano, ela foi celebrada por admiradores, integrantes da escola e participantes do evento.
O carnavalesco Renato Esteves, responsável pelo desenvolvimento do enredo, foi quem entregou o desenho à escritora. Além do croqui, Conceição recebeu do Império Serrano um quadro com a fotografia em que aparece vestida de baiana, imagem revelada publicamente no Dia da Consciência Negra, em 20 de novembro.
Renato destacou a simbologia do figurino criada especialmente para marcar a passagem da autora pela Sapucaí. Apesar de não revelar o que representa, ele afirmou que a fantasia será extremamente representativo:
“É uma roupa linda e carregada de significados, pensada para traduzir a força, a poesia e a ancestralidade presentes na Conceição. Entregar esse croqui justamente no dia do seu aniversário é uma honra e um gesto de profundo respeito pela história que ela representa”, afirmou o carnavalesco.
A homenageada não escondeu a alegria ao receber o desenho do figurino. Diante do público, Conceição Evaristo abriu o sorriso e soltou a seguinte frase: “Que lindo, gente”.
Em 2026, o Império Serrano será a quarta escola a desfilar no dia 14 de fevereiro, na Série Ouro.

Writer Conceição Evaristo received on the afternoon of last Saturday (29), precisely on the day she turned 79, the sketch of the costume she will wear at Carnival 2026, during the Literary Festival of the Peripheries (Flup), held under the Madureira Viaduct. Honored in the theme “Ponciá Evaristo – Flor do Mulungu”, which Império Serrano will take to Marquês de Sapucaí next year, she was celebrated by admirers, school members, and event participants.
Carnival designer Renato Esteves, responsible for developing the theme, was the one who presented the drawing to the writer. In addition to the sketch, Conceição received from Império Serrano a framed photograph in which she appears dressed as a baiana—an image publicly revealed on Black Consciousness Day, November 20.
Renato highlighted the symbolism of the costume, created especially to mark the author’s presence on the Sapucaí runway. Although he did not reveal its full meaning, he stated that the costume will be highly representative:
“It is a beautiful outfit filled with meaning, designed to translate the strength, poetry, and ancestry present in Conceição. Presenting this sketch on her birthday is an honor and a gesture of deep respect for the history she represents,” said the carnival designer.
The honoree did not hide her joy upon receiving the costume sketch. In front of the audience, Conceição Evaristo smiled and said:
“How beautiful, everyone.”
In 2026, Império Serrano will be the fourth school to parade on February 14, in the Série Ouro.
