Projeto do multiartista premiado no Brasil e no exterior mergulha no universo do Pagode dos anos 90 de forma inovadora

Voz singular e potente no cenário artístico brasileiro contemporâneo, o multiartista premiado Muato ecoa o seu mais novo show, “Derê – Concerto Sobre o Pagode”, no palco do Teatro Firjan SESI Centro no dia 08 de dezembro, segunda-feira, às 19h. Sucesso em sua série de apresentações pelo estado do Rio de Janeiro, o espetáculo é um mergulho inovador no repertório do Pagode nascido no subúrbio carioca nos anos 1990 e que conquistou o mundo.

O projeto flutua entre a música, o manifesto e a poesia. Muato se expressa através de sua voz, violão de 8 cordas, guitarra, pedais de loop, samples e outros recursos tecnológicos, para entregar ao público um espetáculo poético musical com um repertório inesquecível. Uma voz que não só canta, mas que se faz território de re-existência, dançando com a memória para desdobrá-la em percepções que revelam o pagode e sua diáspora sonora. 

– Em “DERÊ – CONCERTO SOBRE O PAGODE”, apresento, em forma de show-manifesto, um ritual que dança com a memória para desdobrá-la em novos territórios. Um assentamento no terreiro do pagode que revela a diáspora sonora e poética muitas vezes obscurecida pelo véu do preconceito – explica Muato.

O show conta com Muato dividindo a direção geral e direção musical com Caroline Monlleo e Marcelo Fedrá, respectivamente, figurino de Fernanda Garcia, cenário de Raphael Elias, luz e projeção de Diego Avila, sonorização de Bob Reis e designer gráfico de Rodrigo Cantalício.

Colecionador de prêmios

Cantor, compositor, instrumentista, ator e diretor musical, Muato tem sido consistentemente reconhecido por crítica e público, culminando em importantes prêmios e indicações no teatro e na música. Dentre eles, o mais importante prêmio de teatro do país, Prêmio Shell de Teatro, na categoria música, o prêmio APTR de direção musical e o prêmio FITA de melhor música. Além das premiações internacionais pelo Awards Deutscher Rock & Pop Preis, na Alemanha. 

Oriundo de Vila Isabel, no subúrbio do Rio de Janeiro, sua formação inicial em música de concerto expandiu-se para uma atuação multifacetada, marcada pela excelência técnica, pela pesquisa estética aprofundada e por um forte compromisso com narrativas culturais e sociais relevantes. Neste momento o artista investe no trabalho solo para potencializar o seu discurso, com uma presença que transita entre o cantor e o pensador.

A project by the award-winning multi-artist in Brazil and abroad dives into the universe of 1990s Pagode in an innovative way
A singular and powerful voice in the contemporary Brazilian artistic scene, the award-winning multi-artist Muato brings his newest show, “Derê – Concerto Sobre o Pagode,” to the stage of Teatro Firjan SESI Centro on Monday, December 8, at 7 p.m. Successful throughout his series of performances across the state of Rio de Janeiro, the show offers an innovative dive into the Pagode repertoire born in Rio’s suburbs in the 1990s—music that later conquered the world.
The project flows between music, manifesto, and poetry. Muato expresses himself through his voice, 8-string guitar, electric guitar, loop pedals, samples, and other technological resources to deliver a poetic musical performance filled with an unforgettable repertoire. A voice that not only sings, but becomes a territory of re-existence—dancing with memory to unfold it into perceptions that reveal Pagode and its sonic diaspora.
“In DERÊ – CONCERTO SOBRE O PAGODE, I present, in the form of a show-manifesto, a ritual that dances with memory to unfold it into new territories. A grounding in the terreiro of Pagode that reveals a sonic and poetic diaspora often overshadowed by the veil of prejudice,” explains Muato.
The show features Muato sharing general and musical direction with Caroline Monlleo and Marcelo Fedrá, respectively. Costumes are by Fernanda Garcia, set design by Raphael Elias, lighting and projection by Diego Avila, sound engineering by Bob Reis, and graphic design by Rodrigo Cantalício.
Award-winning artist
Singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, actor, and musical director, Muato has been consistently recognized by critics and audiences, earning major awards and nominations in both theater and music. Among them are Brazil’s most prestigious theater award, the Prêmio Shell de Teatro (Music category), the APTR Award for musical direction, and the FITA Award for Best Music, as well as international honors from the Deutscher Rock & Pop Preis Awards in Germany.
A native of Vila Isabel, in Rio de Janeiro’s suburbs, his early training in concert music expanded into a multifaceted artistic journey marked by technical excellence, in-depth aesthetic research, and a strong commitment to culturally and socially relevant narratives. He is currently investing in his solo work to amplify his message, cultivating a presence that moves fluidly between singer and thinker.
