A Liga RJ e o Centro Universitário Celso Lisboa realizaram, no último sábado, 6 de dezembro, durante o Esquenta Carnaval, a entrega de bolsas 100% integrais de graduação e pós-graduação para mestres de bateria da Série Ouro. A iniciativa inédita marca o início de uma agenda permanente de formação e desenvolvimento para profissionais do carnaval carioca.
As bolsas contemplam mestres que, ao longo dos anos, dedicam suas trajetórias à construção artística e cultural das escolas de samba, mas que raramente estiveram no centro das políticas de formação. A entrega na pista de desfiles, em meio ao evento, simbolizou o reconhecimento institucional a um grupo fundamental para a cultura e a identidade do carnaval.
Para Diego Carbonell, diretor de sustentabilidade da Liga RJ, o momento foi de forte emoção.
“Já fui ritmista, diretor e mestre. Conheço a luta e a dedicação desse segmento, que por muitos anos ficou em segundo plano. Ver esses mestres recebendo uma oportunidade concreta de estudar, sem custo, me emocionou profundamente. É uma reparação simbólica e o primeiro passo de um projeto maior que queremos consolidar para transformar vidas por meio da educação”, afirmou.
Segundo o CEO da Celso Lisboa, Felipe Kotait Borba, “a iniciativa marca o início de uma parceria entre as instituições e reforça o compromisso genuíno do Centro Universitário em apoiar a formação dos profissionais do carnaval carioca”. Borba acrescentou que “a parceria ainda está sendo estruturada, mas o futuro desses cinco talentos já está assegurado”.
Entre os contemplados, a mestra Laísa, que recebeu uma bolsa integral para cursar a pós-graduação em Marketing Criativo e Inovação em Negócios, celebrou a oportunidade.
“É muito especial viver esse momento. A gente se entrega ao Carnaval o ano inteiro, e nem sempre imagina que portas como essa possam se abrir. Ter a chance de me qualificar e ampliar meus caminhos profissionais é algo que levo para a vida. É reconhecimento, é incentivo e é, principalmente, possibilidade de futuro”, disse.
A parceria entre Liga RJ e Celso Lisboa seguirá ampliada com novas iniciativas ao longo dos próximos anos, reforçando o compromisso com educação, inclusão e valorização dos profissionais que constroem o carnaval.

Initiative reinforces commitment to education, appreciation, and professional development within the carnival community
Liga RJ and the Celso Lisboa University Center awarded 100% full undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships to drum section masters from the Série Ouro during the Esquenta Carnaval event held last Saturday, December 6. This unprecedented initiative marks the beginning of a permanent agenda focused on training and developing professionals in Rio’s carnival industry.
The scholarships benefit masters who, over the years, have dedicated their lives to the artistic and cultural construction of samba schools, yet have rarely been included in formal training policies. Holding the ceremony on the parade runway, in the midst of the event, symbolized institutional recognition of a group fundamental to the culture and identity of carnival.
For Diego Carbonell, Sustainability Director of Liga RJ, the moment was deeply emotional.
“I’ve been a drummer, a director, and a master. I know the struggle and dedication of this segment, which for many years was overlooked. Seeing these masters receiving a real opportunity to study, at no cost, moved me profoundly. It’s a symbolic act of reparative justice and the first step in a larger project we want to solidify to transform lives through education,” he said.
According to Celso Lisboa’s CEO, Felipe Kotait Borba, “this initiative marks the beginning of a partnership between the institutions and reinforces the university’s genuine commitment to supporting the education of Rio’s carnival professionals.” Borba added that “the partnership is still being structured, but the future of these five talents is already assured.”
Among the recipients, Mestre Laísa — who received a full scholarship for the postgraduate course in Creative Marketing and Business Innovation — celebrated the opportunity.
“It is very special to experience this moment. We dedicate ourselves to Carnival all year long, and we don’t always imagine that opportunities like this could arise. Having the chance to qualify myself and expand my professional path is something I will carry for life. It is recognition, encouragement, and, above all, the possibility of a future,” she said.
The partnership between Liga RJ and Celso Lisboa will continue to expand through new initiatives in the coming years, reinforcing their commitment to education, inclusion, and the appreciation of the professionals who build the carnival.
