Juliana Rangel é a nova Rainha de Bateria do Cubango
O Acadêmicos do Cubango divulgou a sua nova Rainha de bateria do carnaval de 2026. Prata da Casa, Juliana Rangel assumirá o posto à frente dos ritmistas da bateria Ritmo Folgado no próximo desfile. Cria da escola, a beldade já era musa e alcança o cargo mais desejado por toda menina de uma comunidade.
Juliana tem mais de 20 anos na agremiação. Começou na ala das crianças, virou passista, musa e hoje realiza o sonho de toda menina de uma comunidade: Se torna rainha de bateria da sua escola. Sobrinha-neta de Waldir Narciso, carrega no sangue a memória de quem ajudou a assentar o axé que rege o quilombo da agremiação.
– Estar à frente da bateria da escola que me educou, me formou e segue me moldando é mais do que um posto. É honraria, é responsabilidade, é uma emoção que não cabe no peito nem em palavras. O sonho que se torna real hoje foi sonhado e guiado pelos meus ancestrais. É um movimento de retorno a um lugar que sempre esteve predestinado a ser ocupado por mulheres negras crias desse chão.
A coroação da nova majestade acontece neste domingo, 21 de dezembro, na feijoada da agremiação.

Juliana Rangel Is the New Queen of the Cubango Drum Section
Acadêmicos do Cubango has announced its new Queen of the Drum Section for Carnival 2026. A true homegrown talent, Juliana Rangel will take on the role of leading the drummers of the Ritmo Folgado drum section in the next parade.
Raised within the school, the beauty had already served as a muse and now reaches the most desired position for any girl from a samba school community. Juliana has been part of the organization for over 20 years. She began in the children’s wing, became a passista, then a muse, and today fulfills the dream of every girl from the community: becoming the Queen of the Drum Section of her own school.
The great-niece of Waldir Narciso, she carries in her blood the legacy of those who helped establish the axé that governs the school’s quilombo.
“Leading the drum section of the school that educated me, shaped me, and continues to shape me is more than a title. It is an honor, a responsibility, and an emotion too big for my chest and for words. The dream that comes true today was dreamed of and guided by my ancestors. It is a return movement to a place that was always destined to be occupied by Black women born of this land.”
The coronation of the new queen will take place this Sunday, December 21, during the school’s feijoada.
